Egyptian Master Minds Contributing to International Research: Prospective on the Brain Circulation
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Cairo Office in cooperation with the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT) organized a workshop titled “Egyptian Master Minds Contributing to International Research: Prospective on the Brain Circulation” . The Workshop aimed at promoting the brain circulation concept amony Germany Alumni and the mechanism of transferring their knowledge gained abroad to their home institutions.
During the workshop, experts from different disciplines debated how the migration of researchers can be organized and supported so that the receiving and sending countries as well as the researcher can maximize their benefit from the research stay.
Dr. med. Ehab Elrefai from University of Greifswald and Dr. Noura El-Bialy from University of Hamburg gave insights of their research in Germany and their cooperation with Egyptian Universities.
In a panel discussion moderated by Mr. Christian Achrainer and included following panalists; Dr. Nezar Hassan (UNESCO Egypt), Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abadi (GUC), Prof. Dr. Mohamed Salheen (Ain SHams UNiversity), Prof. Dr. Rasha Sharaf (Helwan University) and Dr. Florian Kohstall (FU Berlin), they explained how their study or research experiences abroad contributed to their career in Egypt.
The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology presented, through Dr. Amr Radwan, Head of Research and Innovation Management Department, its funding mechanism JESOR Development (Joint collaborative Efforts of Egyptian expatriates and Scientific Organizations towards tackling national R&D Challenges).
