Dear friends of the DAAD Regional Office Cairo, dear partners and alumni,

Amid the current crisis due to the outbreak and spread of COVID-19, you all might have noticed that our office and team is now working “remotely.  The first DKA modules have been launched online and you are of course all most welcome to contact us via our personal e-mail addresses and via our general e-mail for counselling and sharing experiences in these challenging times. More news and digital possibilities will be announced soon.

Even though the personal contacts “face-to-face” and sharing events have always been a major pillar of our work in Cairo, for the time being it is essential to follow certain regulations and recommendations set up by our governments and by the findings of various scientists all over the world. Social distancing and certain hygiene regulations are of the most important buzzwords right now and with a little bit of patience we might be able to overcome this pandemic and continue our work and lives as we have been used to.

We would also like to get in touch with all of you now at the beginning of the Holy Month: Even though the festivities this year might be different, we all should welcome this auspicious month with a heart filled with hope, joy, peace and harmony.

Wishing you and your families a blessed Ramadan! Please stay safe and healthy!

Yours sincerely,

Isabell Mering and the whole DAAD Cairo Team
