  • The role of higher education for climate action

The conference aims to discuss the following questions:

  • How do weather extreme events impact human beings and communities? What are recommended practices for climate adaptation?
  • How can fossil-based energy usage be shifted to renewable energy usage to mitigate CO2 emissions and how does this affect mobility in the long haul? How can higher education and scientific institutions contribute to this transition?
  • How can policymakers, scientists, the economic sector and the civil society join forces to increase climate action? How can their collaboration contribute to climate resilience and sustainable development?
  • Which kind of policies need to be implemented promptly?
  • What is the role of civil society, especially the younger generation, in climate action?

Target Group:

Researchers and Scientists working in the field of climate change, meteorology, energy and higher education from Germany, Egypt and the MENA region.
