In May 2018 COSIMENA launched its 7th cluster of scientific innovation, focused on bringing together scientists from all disciplines who teach and do research on various topics within the field of Cultural Heritage.

OIB-COSIMENA Research Colloquium on Ethics

Between May 2023 and April 2024, the DAAD Regional Office Cairo in cooperation with the Orient Institut Beirut (OIB) organised the “OIB-COSIMENA Research Colloquium on Ethics”, taking place at the DAAD Regional Office Cairo in Zamalek. Within the framework of “Clusters of Scientific Innovation in the Middle East and North Africa” (COSIMENA), which is a platform that aims to strengthen and initiate scientific cooperation and networks between researchers and universities in Germany and the MENA region, this series of lectures intended to investigate the recent developments in the current Islamic discourse in new areas of ethics resulting from modern scientific discoveries and investigations, as well as climatic changes.
